Treatment for idiopathic inflammatory myopathies
First line:
Second line:
IBM poorly responds to immunosuppressive agents
Corticosteroid
PT/OTSecond line:
MTX
Azathioprine
IVIG
cyclophosphamide
cyclosporine
6-MPIBM poorly responds to immunosuppressive agents
Treatment of SLE
First line treatment:
Switch from cyclophosphamide to mycophenolate mofetil,
or azathioprine in 3 to 6 mo
Hydroxychloroquine
Mild SLE: low dose steroid
Aggressive SLE: moderate dose steroid
Severe SLE: high dose steroid, combine with either
cyclophosphamide, mycophenolate mofetil, or azathioprine
Hydroxychloroquine: continue indefinitely
c. diff infection risk factors and treatment for recurrent CDI
